All A-Twitter
Although I'm something of a hermit, social websites intrigue me. I once joked to someone that they allowed me to be social AND alone, which earned me an eyeroll.
First, it was Myspace vs. Facebook. I looked at both, tried them out, and decided I liked Myspace better. It was more intuitive, and I liked the layout. It appeared friendlier, and the clincher was that I found one of my best friends from school, right off the bat.
This week, I'm trying Twitter. I'd heard about it in connection with the student who was arrested in Egypt. He was able to alert friends and family by sending the word "arrested" from his cell phone. I don't imagine that anyone is going to be interested in what I'm doing on a daily basis, as my life is pretty quiet. However, it may come in handy in an emergency.
