Detour

There was a detour, because I managed to lose the end of the fiber on the single. How does one do that? I really don't know, but I managed it. This was the first clue things were amiss:
I thought I found the proper end, but then this happened:
That bit of red is the leader, and you shouldn't see it right off the bat. After much fiddling and fussing, I found an end that seemed to roll freely, and prayed I hadn't grabbed the wrong bit.

Today, I finished plying the second bobbin full and got it wound off onto a chair back. I tied them both off, took them off the chairs, and voila! Twine!
Once again, I am making yarn (and I'm using the term loosely here) that is horribly overspun. I know I'm a beginner all over again, but I am disappointed that it turned out this badly.
