Spring Along Update

Because these braids play so well together color-wise, I decided to ply them together to make a two-ply yarn.  I wasn't quite sure what to expect, and I was half afraid that this choice would make a really muddy yarn.

Roving was pulled off in staple lengths and spun from the fold, finger pointed towards the orifice.  Not only to get more yarn, but also to make a lighter, loftier yarn.

Skeins before washing:

There are no in-progress spinning pictures, because my camera just can't get the colors right.  The alpaca mutes the colors in both braids, and the green mutes Nebula even more.  What I have are very muted, very greened colors.

Post-wash skeins in the same order as above.  Skeins were soaked, snapped, and hung to dry without weight:

The bottom skein is leftover Nebula plied on itself.

Yardage from top to bottom is 216, 161, and 51 yards, respectively, for a total of 428.  Not quite as much yardage as last time, but still respectable.

I'm not quite sure what this is going to be, although I am considering Newborn Vertebrae and Norwegian Sweet Baby Cap.
