Don't Fear the Quiche
So, we're nearly at the end of the two-week Atkin's cleanse, and I find myself surprised by a couple of things. I never thought that eating food with that much fat in it would taste good, and that I would feel good after eating it. I also didn't expect to lose anything during this first two weeks. Mostly, it's been water, which is something I experienced the first time I went to an all-fresh diet. But I just feel better, all the way around. I'm looking forward to continuing on with the plan.
As for quiche, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, although texture is still something of a problem. Lots of quiche this last week and a half. I've decided that the invention of quiche went something like this:
Man drags himself into the house, after working in the fields all day, and is trying to decide what to make for dinner that won't be a lot of work. He looks into the fridge and decides if he dumps a bunch of shit into a pan, covers it with eggs, and throws it into the oven for an hour that should work. Voila! Quiche is born.
My only problem so far is trying to get rid of the chocolate cravings at work. It's my cure-all for stress there, and a work-around is going to have to be found. We'll get it figured out.
