Eat, Drink, And Be Merry, For Tomorrow We Diet
The man in my life has decided that he's not happy with the way he looks and the way he feels. I haven't been happy with the way I look or feel for quite some time, now. So, the pair of us are going on a diet. I've never dieted with anyone else before, and I'm really hoping that we can make this a permanent change in the way we eat.
I've done Body for Life before, which I really like, while he's familiar with the Atkins Diet. Since he's in charge of the food, we'll be starting off with the Atkins cleanse. As far as I can tell, this involves eating everything I don't like for two weeks - eggs, cheese, cream, and various and sundry other fatty, greasy foods. I think I see where the cleanse part comes in, and I have a feeling that I'd better not stray too far from the bathroom (which should make work an interesting challenge). But it's only for two weeks, and then I've been assured that the menu will shift in a direction that is a little easier for me.
I also signed up for a wellness program sponsored by my health insurance plan, and today, my pedometer arrived in the mail. I'm going to get that set up and start monitoring my steps, as well as resuming my weight training, as soon as I no longer have to live in the bathroom.
This should be interesting.
