Summer Vacation Part III
Sunday, we wandered around Estes Park, as the thought of crawling into the car to drive anywhere was more than any of us could stand. Typical tourist town in a gorgeous location.
Tuesday, we took a day trip to Colorado Springs to see The Garden of the Gods. The story is that, upon seeing the area, a pioneer said he thought it would make a great beer garden. His friend replied that this was, indeed, a garden fit for the the gods, hence the name of the park. It's probably good that no beer garden was ever built there, otherwise tourists would be looking for Broken Ankle Rocks.
The area around Colorado Springs is some of the prettiest I've seen so far. Right up in the mountains, and the trees are all down through town.
We accidentally stumbled upon the location for Tesla's Colorado Springs laboratory, which was pretty cool.
