Of Weddings and Babies
My summer has gotten infinitely more interesting.
First, there is the wedding. I work a high-stress job, and I hate being the center of attention. This is the second marriage for both of us, and we agreed that we wanted it to be low-key, low stress, and low maintenance. To that end, we found a great venue that doesn't require decoration and includes catering. Really, the only things left to do are invitations, find a photographer, a cake, and pick up flowers from the Pike Place Market. And it all works, unless you're me.
Arnie's daughter is also getting married this summer, and the only date their venue was available was the weekend before our wedding. It's no big deal; it just means that, between travel and trying to pull last-minute stuff together, the week before our wedding is going to be more hectic than originally anticipated.
However, my daughter has informed me that she's pregnant, and she's due the end of July.
Now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to be in three states, supporting the people I love, all at the same time.
