Second Skein
Second skein, first of the Autumn Flame. I already see improvement in terms of consistency and plying. I used Abby Franquemont's plying ball technique, and it worked better for me. Oddly, I wound up with uneven lengths of singles, which led to me having to draft my husband to help me ply. I know this is simply operator error, and I will manage better this next section.
I managed to split my first spindle and have now replaced it with a Schacht Hi-Lo Spindle. At 2.2 ounces, it is heavier than the one I broke, but it is is nicely balanced and spins well. The weight made a noticeable difference in plying this skein, and I'm really happy with it.
