Moorhen Plied
It took a while to decide how to ply Moorhen. Originally, I planned to make a three-ply yarn, using two black wool singles and the moorhen single, but I was worried that I would lose the color. I decided to cable ply it, first plying a black single with the moorhen single, and then plying the resulting yarn with itself. Here is a picture of the two-ply yarn:
The next challenge was winding this off the spindle in such a way that there would be two equal ends to start plying with. A ball of yarn, this video, and I was off to the races. I wound the two ends from the plying bracelet into a plying ball, and this is the result:
It's a yarn that is still as subtle as the single, and it is about the same size as the three-ply black wool previously spun, which tickles me to no end as it is part of the same project.
