Astro Squirrel Vertebrae
If I were to get serious about knitting for babies, I would invest in some smaller needles. However, they appear so seldom that it's probably not worth the investment. Suffice it to say that I used the smallest needles I have, and this will either fit a large baby or a small toddler, I'm not sure which. Either way, there is plenty of growing room.
This is the only picture that shows how wonderfully green this yarn is.
I like how nice the stripes look across the back. The fact that the arm bands, the neck band, and the top stripe match was just sheer, dumb luck.
I tried a softer approach to both singles and plying with this yarn, and it worked, but it could have worked better. When plied, the singles became somewhat underspun, which made them softer. The problem is that the first section of this sweater was completely ripped out, which made the yarn even softer, and took out some of the plying twist. The sweater is not fragile, but the yarn is not quite what I want it to be, either. I've concluded that tighter singles are a must.
Matching pants are currently on the needles.
