Purple Haze

This is a purple Southdown/silk blend (65/35) from Inglenook Fibers.  As odd as this may sound, I think it's the wooliest-feeling fiber I've encountered so far.  Light, fluffy, and full of crimp, the post-bath poof factor is pretty high.  I spun this into three-ply to make slippers for the littles.

The pattern is Aunt Maggie's Slippers.  A family friend used to make these exact same slippers for me and my sister, and we would have skating parties across the linoleum in the living room and dining room in the house we grew up in.  After mom waxed the floors, we would have them buffed to a high shine.  For that reason, I have not put anything on the bottoms of these to prevent slippage, and I will leave it up to their respective mothers for that modification.
