Of Chickens and Technology
A couple of weeks ago, I got all secret squirrel with my phone and decided to lock it down, tight. Encryption and the whole nine yards. Consequently, I have photographs that I cannot upload, download, or do anything else with, because my phone is the only one that can see them. That includes the photograph of the chicks at one week.
This photograph is of the chicks at three weeks, through the hardware cloth, as they have discovered that they have wings that actually work. I cannot believe how fast they have grown!
They have established a pecking order, and I've discovered that one of the girls is a real bitch. Chick at the feeding station? She will launch herself at it and shoo it away. Chicks huddled down in a cozy group? She will launch herself off the feeding station into the middle of them, sending them squawking in different directions. Don't even think about approaching the water dish. As a matter of fact, she has caused so much trouble that they are graduating to the garage early, since it's obvious that there is not enough room in the toy box for them.
