Forest Floor

The next fiber in the Squatch Along is Bluefaced Leicester.  After spinning rather a lot of bfl/silk blends, I thought this braid would be old hat, but it wasn't.  This braid was a complete surprise.

My goal was to keep the colors together, so I split the braid and weighed the halves.  I started spinning from the end, but it just wasn't working very well.  So, I tore off the colors in chunks and spun them from the fold.  As a result, the yarn barber poled, but in a surprisingly good way.

It is going to be very interesting to see how this knits up.  I'm predicting heathered greens, to greens, to heathered browns, to browns.
